
About Laffe
Here at Laffe we focus on bold flavours but just as importantly, we have the environment in mind in all our products.
Our mission is to ‘glow up’ normally wasted food products to enhance the flavours and textures of our products. There are so many food items that go to waste when they can be made into such amazing food and beverages! Our first range of products are based on the use of coffee chaff.
Coffee chaff is normally produced during the coffee roasting process and is often thrown away! It is a massive waste as chaff is very nutritious and has a great malty, caramel flavour. We plan to expand our range by ‘upcycling’ more and more products and do our bit to help reduce food wastage.​​
Why do we do this?
The UK binned 10.7 million tonnes of food in 2021!
​The biggest contributor? Households, 60% of all food waste comes from our homes. The rest comes from farms (15%), manufacturing (13%), hospitality and food service (10%), and retail (just 2%).
At Laffe, we’re flipping the script on food waste. We rescue top-quality ingredients that would’ve been chucked by manufacturers and the food industry and turn them into something worth celebrating.
We also share quick, clever recipes to help you use up what’s at home (even if it’s looking a little sorry for itself). Sustainability isn’t an afterthought at Laffe, it’s at the heart of everything we do.​​​​​​​
